MAIP Experience Part 1

When I first heard about MAIP I was still an undergraduate student. I had a friend who was ecstatic about applying and was insistent about her friends applying as well. I was skeptical at first, the imposter syndrome kicking in to tell me to not bother applying. It wasn't until later (after many pep talks from loved ones) that I finally got up the courage to apply. I spent months perfecting my essays and resume, in addition to reaching out to mentors for recommendations and guidance in the process. I got in and from there the training began. Every week I got to learn about the industry from professionals and work on myself professionally - this boosted my confidence and helped that imposter syndrome subside. I had no idea if I was going to be selected by an agency to continue the internship experience, however, I knew regardless, I would walk away with valuable knowledge I didn't have access to previously. Also, everyone in the cohort was so friendly and amazing - I knew I had a new network of people to confide in when going into the industry. Then agency selection rolled around...
